I am a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) with almost a decade of extensive experience supporting children, young people, and their families to improve their emotional wellbeing and mental health.
With a background in Psychology, I have worked across a range of settings, including schools, NHS Children’s Services, and registered inpatient hospitals, supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. My experience across numerous settings enables me to understand the unique challenges that children, adolescents, and families can face and to tailor support to meet their individual needs.
As a qualified Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner and CBT Therapist, with a special interest in social anxiety and emetophobia, I use evidence-based approaches to help children and young people develop practical skills to better understand their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, while building confidence in using those effective strategies (or life skills) and building resilience as you continue to grow.
My approach is person centred and adapted to each individual person I work with, I am relatable (trying to stay young!), and like to approach therapy in a light hearted and calm manner. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where young people feel heard and understood. I also believe that lasting change is more likely with early intervention and with the right support around the young person and their family – even after therapeutic input.
I love nothing more than a lazy day in bed binge watching TV but I am so busy that I rarely get to do that! I am quite an active person, I play netball twice a week, I like to see friends and family, I can be quite creative when I get the chance to be, and my favourite hobby is travelling!
I love working with children, young people, and their families and I look forward to working with you in the near future.
